El miércoles pasado jugo la Selección Española un partido de clasificación para el próximo mundial aquí en Bruselas contra los Diablos Rojos belgas (el equipo nacional). Y ¿quién fue por primera vez en su vida a un estadio de fútbol? ¡¡¡Pues la menda leyenda!!! Fue superemocionante y encima ganamos. Además tuvimos la suerte (o desgracia, porque los oídos me anduvieron pitando toda la noche) de tener a Manolo el del bombo justo detrás de nosotros. Los goles se ven mejor en la tele, pero el ambientazo del campo es una pasada.

Last Wednesday the Spanish selection played one of the classificatory matches for the World Championship here in Brussels, against the Belgian Red Devils (the national team). And, who went for the first time in her lifetime to a Football Stadium? Me!!!! It was extremely exciting apart from the fact that we won!!! Besides, we were very lucky (on unlucky, because the most famous Spanish supporter seated just behind us with his drum. Television is better to watch the goals in detail but the atmosphere of the Stadium is undescribable.

Visitas en Bruselas/Visits in Brussels

Los últimos meses he tenido la suerte de recibir un montón de visitas: mi familia, Amadeo y Esther, el tío Pedro y la tía Esther, Karin, Ntosh, Vane y compañía, Stathis, Paulina y Lorena... Este pasado fin de semana me acompañaron Tanu y Lambertus, ella Indú y é Holandés. Me hubiera gustado dedicarles más tiempo, pero bueno, se hizo lo que se pudo.

During the last months I was very lucky to receive loads of visits: my family, Amadeo and Esther, my uncle Pedro and my aunty Esther, Karin, Ntosh, Vane and company, Stathis, Paulina and Lorena... Last weekend Tanu and Lambertus made me some company. She is from India and he is from The Netherlands. I would have loved to spend more time with them. but well, I did what I could.

También este fin de semana he cambiado de compañero de piso. Olivier, médico de la ONG Médicos del mundo, se ha ido a Mali a comprobar cómo van los proyectos de desarrollo que la ONG tiene allí implantados. Su lugar ha sido ocupado por Sebas, compañero durante las prácticas en la Comisión, y que se ha venido a Bruselas a ver si encuentra trabajo por estos lares.



This weekend I changed from flat mate temporarily:Olivier, a doctor of the NGO Doctors of the world, went to Mali to check the proyects the the NGO carries out there. He has been replaced by Sebas, a colleague from the Internship at the Commission who has come to Brussels to look for a job.



El campeonato de fútbol de ex-internos de la comisión ya empezó y yo ya marqué mi primer gol de la temporada. Eso sí, hace falta trabajar un poco el físico...

The football competition of ex-trainees of the Commission started as well this weekend and I already scored the fist goal of the season. However, it is obvious that we should start working on the physical condition...

Torrescárcela

ENGLISH VERSION BELOW PARAGRAPHS IN SPANISH

Fin de semana de concentración de las amigas de toda la vida (La tropa Wendo) en el pueblito vallisoletano de Torrescárcela (http://www.geocities.com/torrescarcela/). En este pueblo me hospedé (con mi familia adoptiva: los Ibañez Guerra) cuando estuve trabajando en la clínica de Iscar (verano de 2005). Fue un gran verano en el que disfruté, como hacía ya mucho que no hacía, de los veranos en los pueblos de Castilla y León e hice muy buenos amigos (Rosa, Pedro y familia, Abelete, Julio, Alicia, Asier y familia,...).

This weekend the friends from school (The Wendo Troupe) met at a little village of Valladolid called Torrescárcela (http://www.geocities.com/torrescarcela/). In this village I was hosted (by my adoption-family: the Ibañez-Guerra) when I was working in an small animal practice of Iscar (summer 2005). That was a summer that I enjoyed a lot, with loads of parties in the villages around and I did very good friends (Rosa, Pedro and family, Abelete, Julio, Alicia, Asier and family,...).


Nos hospedamos en la casa rural "La almuerza" (http://www.la-almuerza-casarural.com/), un caserón restaurado al más puro estilo castellano, con un montón de habitaciones y un patio enorme (con futbolín). Comimos como si fuera el último fin de semana de nuestras vidas, jugamos al futbolín, hicimos "Noche de fiesta" y, sobre todo, charlamos. Está muy bien juntarse de vez en cuando y ponerse al día, sobre todo ahora que estudios y/o vida profesional ha puesto a cada una en un sitio. También visitamos Cuellar pueblo segoviano donde se celebran los encierros más antiguos de toda España y donde eligen para ello a los toros más grandes (http://www.aytocuellar.es/)

This weekend we were hosted in a rural house called "La Almuerza" (http://www.la-almuerza-casarural.com/), a huge restored in a pure-castillian-style house, with a lot of rooms and a huge courtyard (with table-football). We ate as if there were no tomorrow, we played table-football, we made performances at night and, most of all, we chatted. It´s very nice to meet from time to time and update ourselves, most of all now that the studies and/or profesional life have lead us to different places. We went to visit Cuellar, the town in Segovia where there are the oldest bull running of Spain for which the largest bulls are chosen (http://www.aytocuellar.es/)

Durante la "Noche de fiesta" cada una hizo su imitación de una gran estrella de la canción: Madonna y su sujetador puntiagudo, Sebastian el cangrejo de la sirenita con su Bajo el mar, Las Grecas... Más tarde se unieron a la fiesta Rosa, Pedro y Abelete, que hicieron su versión del eurovisionero "Chikilicuatre". Lo pasamos en grande.

During the performances, each of us imitated one artist: we had Madonna and her spiky bra, SEbastian (the one of the Little Mermaid) with his "Under the sea", LAs Grecas... Afterwards, Rosa, Pedro and Abelete joined us and they made a version of the spanish representative in eurovision "Chickilicuatre". It was a great fun.
