Robben Island

This was an leisure-active weekend again (Thank God, for that!!). On Saturday I went with my guys: Jan (Dutch), Dirk (german) and Oscar (Spanish) to Kalk Bay to see the colourfull houses. From there we went to Robben Island, located a little bit to the north of Cape Town where many politic prisoners were kept during the Apartheid. The boat trip to the Island was totally fantastic, with the wind hitting our faces, big waves and seals swimming next to the boat.

I´m sorry to say that the visit to Robben Island could have been a little better. From the nature point of view there is a wide variety of animals and plants. I guess it could be very interesting to undergo an evolutive study in the Island. The rest of the aspect of the visit, and I must be cautious with what I say, was for me a little poor in contents. Still you can see the prision, the houses of the guards, the school, the church... Please don´t hesitate at sending me your comments if you don´t agree with me.

Afterwards, we went to the Aquarium at the Waterfront of Cape Town. This is really worthy to visit. They have gathered a wide variety of fish, seaweed, shells, arthropods, and some sea reptiles and birds from all over their coast, the atlantic part and the indic one. Gourgeous and very relaxing!! And educational, becuase they have many workshops to get to know the "sea beings", where you can tauch, smell and even taste some seaweed and shells.

¡¡Realmente impresionante!!

To finish a great day with went to a great place called Table View so enjoy the sun set and have dinner at the Restaurant called Blowfish (a little bit expensive, but very good). The sand of the beach next to t is very white and the water reminds you that it belongs to the Atlantic Ocean. It was a windy day so we could see people making "Sky-surf" (sorry if that´s not the name for that). Really impresive!!
¡¡Qué día más completo!!
What a complete day!!
